This technology rapidly and reliably assesses the efficacy of different cancer drugs directly on the tumor within the body, to select the optimal personalized treatment for each patient.

New personalized tool

This novel “first-of-its-kind” barcoded nanoparticle technology prescreens multiple drugs before beginning a treatment cycle. The nanoparticles are able to selectively target the tumor cells and the barcodes are used as mediators to correlate which drug is the most therapeutically efficient.

The Need

Chemotherapy is the standard of care to treat various types of cancer. For each given cancer type there are a number of different chemotherapy drugs available that doctors must choose between.

Unfortunately, patients today often respond unreliably to their prescribed medications, leading to wasted treatment time and unnecessary toxicity for the patient, and significant added costs to the healthcare system. The oncology community is facing the key challenge of predicting patient responses to anticancer drugs to make sure that patients are treated effectively.
